ChatGPT has no shared group calendar of its own, but you can connect one. Add a custom MCP connector for a group calendar such as Junto and ChatGPT can show what is planned, who is coming, add events and RSVP for you.
The menus for adding a connector change often, so this page gives the steps and the one thing to check: whether your ChatGPT screen accepts a connector with no OAuth sign-in.

No. ChatGPT is an assistant, not a calendar your friends can open.
What it can do is talk to a calendar that already exists, through MCP, an open-source standard for connecting AI applications to outside systems. That gives you a shared calendar your whole group can open, with ChatGPT as your helper on top.
1. In ChatGPT, find where it lets you add a custom MCP server. OpenAI's documentation describes it as the Plugins page, with a plus button and "Add custom MCP server". Older guides call it custom connectors in developer mode. Menu names change, and what you see depends on your plan and workspace settings.
2. Enter the server URL. For the free connector that creates calendars, use https://tryjunto.app/mcp. For your own calendar, use the personal connection link from the AI tab of an unlocked calendar.
3. Choose the authentication option that means no sign-in, if your screen offers one. The connector uses no OAuth. If ChatGPT insists on OAuth for custom servers on your plan, it will not connect. Claude can take the same link.
4. Accept the warning ChatGPT shows for custom servers, finish the setup and start a chat. Ask it to set up a calendar, or to list your events.
Ask in plain words. These map to real tools on the connector:
Creating a calendar is free. Reading and changing an existing calendar needs the one-time unlock: $4.99 plus tax per calendar, no subscription. The same unlock removes the 8 member limit.
ChatGPT cannot delete events, remove members, change settings, RSVP for other people or pay. The calendar has no chat or lists and no two-way sync with Google or Apple Calendar. Treat your personal link like a password: it lets the assistant act as you.

No. ChatGPT does not offer a calendar your group can share. You can connect a separate group calendar through a custom MCP connector, and ChatGPT then works on it for you. Junto is one such calendar. Add its connector link, then ask ChatGPT to create a calendar or list events.
OpenAI's MCP documentation points to the Plugins page, with a plus button and an "Add custom MCP server" option. Older articles call it custom connectors in developer mode. Menus change by plan and over time, so follow what you see. Junto works with any client that takes a plain remote URL.
We could not confirm that from OpenAI's own pages, which describe OAuth options. Junto links use a key in the URL and no OAuth, so if your ChatGPT screen offers a no-authentication choice it should work. If it does not, use Claude or Claude Code, or use the help button.
Both can add a custom connector by URL. Claude's help page documents the steps and the plans that allow custom connectors. For ChatGPT we could not confirm the no-OAuth case. Junto works the same in either, so pick the assistant you already use and test with the free connector.
Creating a calendar through ChatGPT is free, and private calendars are free up to 8 members. Letting ChatGPT read and change a calendar needs the one-time unlock: $4.99 plus tax, no subscription, per calendar. Junto sends the Stripe link; you pay it yourself.
No on both. The connector has no delete tool and ChatGPT answers only as you. It can add events and RSVP going, maybe or not going for yourself. Junto keeps removal and settings in the calendar itself. Ask ChatGPT to confirm details before it adds anything.
No. Only the person who connects an assistant needs one. Everyone else opens the invite link in a browser and types a name. Junto asks for no account or app. Share the invite link in your group chat and let ChatGPT handle the planning questions for you.
Treat it like a password. Anyone with it can act as you on that calendar. Junto stores only a hash of the key and shows it once. If it leaks, open the calendar, tap AI, and press Disconnect or make a new link. Then re-add the new link.
